The Jao are a form of People relating more distantly to the Original Folk and little is known about them. They are very rare, and they blend in with their surroundings. Varying legends tell of them either being extremely strong or extremely fragile.
It is believed they are the ones the Inner Circle legends talk about. According to these legends, a small number of their people are particularly strong and wise and known for advanced travel capabilities through time and space which they use—largely unnoticed—to help save the world at various points in the epochs (although legends exist of suspected attempts by rogue members at the opposite).
